DUNES KANKAKEE TRAIL

The Dunes Kankakee Trail is a 1.8-mile trail that runs from the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center just off US Highway 20 north past the South Shore station, linking up with the Calumet Trail on its way to one of the entrances for Indiana Dunes National Park.  The Dune Park South Shore station allows for cyclists to take the train to other locations to ride their bicycles.  Click here for more information concerning taking your bicycle on the South Shore line.  The trail crosses over both US Highway 20 and US Highway 12. The goal of the trail is to take it south through Porter County all the way to the Kankakee River, linking with many other trails along the way, including the American Discovery Trail.
