PULASKI COUNTY

Pulaski County is the home of Winamac along the Tippecanoe River.  Winemac, the county seat, is named after the Potawatomi word for “catfish.”  Tippecanoe River State Park is also located in Pulaski County. Pulaski Memorial Hospital, a 25 bed critical access hospital in Winamac operates two clinics in Pulaski County; one in Francesville and another in Monterey.  Ralph Braun who had spinal muscular atrophy created a wheelchair lift and a control system that allowed him to drive a van. He turned his invention into the $200 million a year company BraunAbility that is headquartered in Winamac.
