Miami County is the home of Peru, where the Mississinewa River flows into the Wabash River. Peru, the county seat, is home to the International Circus Hall of Fame, and was the home to several well known circuses when they weren’t out performing cross country. Early in the history of the automobile industry, Miami County was home to the Model Automobile Company. Today, Miami County has many employers, including Bryan Steam, LLC, Dukes Memorial Hospital, American Stationery Company, Armour-eckrich Meats, and Schneider Electric Square D. Grissom Aeroplex, named after Virgil “Gus” Grissom, is in Miami County, and houses the Grissom Air Museum with over twenty aircraft on display.
